We’ve all had those times in our lives where we’ve had to orchestrate some kind of big event, whether it’s a wedding or a family reunion or some other kind of party. You want to make sure you have the right kind of caterer for your event—so why not someone who prides themselves on sustainability, customer service, and flexibility?
Portland Catering Company:
Artemis Foods prides themselves on these three very things! Heidi Ingelfinger, an event planner for the company, joins me to talk all about the business and what sets Artemis Foods apart from other catering companies here in the Portland Area.
IN THIS EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN:
- How the owner of Artemis Foods got the inspiration for the company. She was seeing a lot of things happening to food in grocery stories—lots of processed foods and people suffering from things like gluten or dairy issues. This is how clean eating and sustainability became one of the biggest beliefs for Artemis Foods.
- What makes Artemis Foods unique. Sure, they aren’t the only caterer that believes in sustainability, but Artemis Foods has INCREDIBLE customer service; Heidi talks about, as an event planner, she can stick with the client from beginning to end because Artemis Foods is still boutique enough to facilitate that. Not only that, but they’re INCREDIBLY flexible so that the client can get exactly what they want, no matter their situation.
- What the process of picking the menu is like. They have some set menus that are used as a jumping off point for clients to decide their own menus, but something Heidi likes to ask is, “What’s your favorite restaurant, and what about it makes it your favorite?” It then becomes a process of taking pieces from a variety of different things to make a menu completely unique to the client.
- The two main types of catering they offer: drop off catering and full-service catering. Heidi lays both out for us and also describes why some folks would prefer to drop off catering to full service for their events.
